<description>Funny how Devo is thought of as a 1 hit wonder band. But always a different song for different people, “babydoll” is a dance hit, “satisfaction” is yer talking heads, new wave one hit wonder. I think of them in the same category as Sparks, a great band that never got past niche status but left a wonderful legacy of interesting and different music. No one else could have written Devo’s stuff or Sparks.

Mark Mothersbaugh has went on to many a film &amp; television score - so many people have heard his music without knowing it.

BTW a USB turntable would allow you to digitize all your vinyl for about the price of 6 or 7 cds. The later lps from the late 70’s and especially the 80’s stuff digitized quite nicely, the dynamics aren’t quite cd but the noise floor is pretty low and the mastering was top notch. I’m slowly working my way thru mine, with an emphasis on those that don’t exist on CD and probably never will.

cool blog, came looking for Milla - what a voice!!!
