A Stab at “realistic” with my Copic Markers
I tend to draw in a comic/cartoon style most of the time. I feel more free to draw that way because of not being bound strictly to the rules of physics or anatomy. half the stuff I draw in the comic world doesn’t even exist in the real world, so there no chance of drawing it wrong. I like that. It’s safe.
But I do like pushing myself at times, so the other night I took a shot at a more realistic illustration of a female from a photo reference. It (of course) was done using my new love, Copic Sketch Markers.
Please let me know what you think! Should I keep exploring this aspect or should I stick with Comic style?

while i prefer the comic stuff in general, i think you did an excellent job with the realistic style. i say draw what you like … but stretching yourself is a good thing.

Good sketch. Nice facial shading. Shadows under blouse look a tad dark.

Thanks to both of you for the comments! I do agree that the shadows under her blouse are too dark. I still have a lot to get use to with the Copic markers or with markers in general really. It’s not a medium I’ve used much in the past and there’s a finality to every stroke that I’m just not use to. In time!
Thanks again, it’s nice to know someone’s actually looking.
